Inspection, registration and insurance reminders
Car Care: Maintenance Tracker is a free car maintenance app for iPhone that reminds you when your car's
inspection, registration or insurance is due, alongside its oil changes and other service. Log each renewal with its date
and price, and attach the policy or the inspection report. The next reminder counts from that
date, and the price adds to what the car costs.
Log the renewal you already have
Start with the last renewal of each kind, such as the inspection the car passed in May and the
insurance that renewed in the fall. Log each one with the date, the price and any notes.
Inspection, registration and insurance are built-in maintenance items, so the renewals sit in
the same list of reminders as oil, brakes and tires.
Each starts from a recommended interval, and you can change it to the time your policy or your
inspection lasts.
Keep the policy and the inspection report on the record
Attach the insurance policy, the registration document or the inspection report as a photo or a
PDF. The paper stays on the renewal it belongs to, next to the date its reminder counts from.
Older renewals keep theirs too.
Renewals count down by the calendar
Renewals have no mileage limit, so Car Care counts each one by time, from the date of the renewal
you logged. The item shows the days left and moves from up to date to due soon. Car Care sends a
notification when a renewal is due soon, then another when it is due.
Renew, log it, and the next countdown starts
Once the car has passed its inspection or the new policy is in place, log the new renewal. The
countdown to the next one starts from it, and the earlier renewals stay in the item's history.
Each renewal's price joins the car's costs for its month. Over a year, renewals, fill-ups and service jobs add up to
what the car costs to run.
